Passing Through the Course

“Every good teacher hopes to give his students so much of his own learning that they will one day no longer need him. This is the one true goal of the teacher.” (T-4.1.5)

It is ironic that as a mentor for students of A Course in Miracles my job is to help you get past the Course. The Course offers you a theology, or system of belief, that is more in line with Truth to replace one you already hold. Yet, you will reach a point where you won’t need any theology because you have a direct relationship with God that is beyond any “belief”. And the structured, formal lessons in the Workbook will be replaced by direct, informal lessons from your Holy Spirit. In essence, a mentor guides you through the Course and out the other side, where you will need neither the mentor nor any structured curriculum.

Yes. My experience of God is beyond belief.

Ask: What is meant by "extend Love"?

I wonder exactly what is meant by "extend love" or how one extends love. Is it a loving intention toward the person, or a wish for them, or what? Can you give an example? – JO “Extending love” means replacing unloving thoughts in your mind with the awareness of Love in your mind. For example, your peace of mind is disturbed while watching something on television. Your peace is gone because you believe that what you see is reality. You extend Love in this situation by turning inward to Truth (God), feeling Love’s Presence within you, and remembering that It, not the images appearing, is What is Real. Ask: Any insights on accepting not having the partner and family I want?

“I am 39 and single, childless. I have spent the last 15 years doing everything (and at times letting go) to find a partner (and be the best I can be and absolutely everything under the sun) and have a family.
