Ask: Healed in the Presence of a Teacher

I was recently healed of a persistent resentment while in the presence of a person who has dedicated her life to teaching ACIM. It was like a feeling of warmth and deep healing of that old wound/habit just by being in the presence of her love. What do you think happened? This was not intellectual; it seemed to be some sort of radiant experience. Of course in the Bible, it is mentioned that for example the woman was healed by touching Jesus's robe. What do you think happened? I have heard of folks being healed just by being in the presence of Teachers of Love of different religions. How would this be explained by ACIM? Thank you. – EH You were healed because you chose healing. All forms of discord – physical, emotional, and/or intellectual - are of the personal self, which is a thought in your mind. So, all healing occurs in the mind of the one who thinks that discord is occurring. You were open to seeing peace and love in this teacher, which reflected the peace and love within you,

Ask: Does God want to experience not-God?

…a) I have been reading about "A Course in Miracles" and here is what it says: We are all one with God. Sometime (which never happened, since time is an illusion), there was this tiny mad idea of separation (duality). From that tiny mad idea, we bought into a dream that we were separate from God, and that's basically how the universe as we know it was formed (the Big Bang). None of this is real, however, and when we wake up, we'll have an experience of oneness with God again; an infinite, eternal Oneness. b) Another thought system, which I believed to understand so far, puts meaning and purpose behind this "illusion". God is said to have desired an experience of him/herself objectively, either as a fun game (hard to play Ludo by yourself), or according to some beliefs, as a means of continued evolution and development. Thus, The One sent out parts of him/her-self into an illusion of duality, so that The One could experience him/her-self as that which is &quo

Ask: Overcoming Addiction

Could you please address overcoming addictions from a Course perspective… - Anonymous As not-God, the personal thought system is the opposite of God in every way: It is the ideas of conflict, lack, dis-order, dis-cord, dis-ease, etc. given form. There is no such thing as a perfect personal experience. Some personal selves manifest diseases and disorders of the body; some manifest diseases and disorders of the personal thought system, like addiction, depression, psychosis, or other mental illnesses. All personal thought systems are at least neurotic, because guilt and fear are at their core. No personal thought system can ever be whole, because, as not-God, they are all the opposite of Wholeness. Above all, remember that you have one problem, and that the problem has one solution. It is in this that the simplicity of salvation lies. It is because of this that it is guaranteed to work. – (W-80.5) In Truth, you have no problems. All problems that you perceive, then, are problems of the

Ask: Overcoming Resentment

I'd really like your course related advice on something. My husband and I have been separated for two years but are still living in the same house because we can't afford to live separately. We have a son with learning difficulties who has two years left of high school. I'd like to try to remain in the house for another two years until he is finished school. I really need to forgive my husband though, because I'm finding the situation, my almost constant reflection on our relationship (most of which was awful and abusive), and the circumstances that lead to our separation very difficult to get past. Birthdays and holidays are cruel reminders of the family that I wish we could have been. I am stewing in a pot of resentment and hate, although I have, a few times, been able to get to a place of peace and forgiveness, through following the course. I find it difficult to make those times last though. One of my former course teachers remarked that I'm in the perfect place
