Actually, You Are Already "There"

The instant the idea of separation entered the mind of God's Son, in that same instant was God's Answer given. In time this happened very long ago. In reality it never happened at all. (M-2.2)

The journey to God is merely the reawakening of the knowledge of where you are always, and what you are forever. It is a journey without distance to a goal that has never changed. (T-8.VI.9)

In essence, spiritual awakening is really a process of realizing where you already are. Just as when you sleep at night and awaken to find that, despite your dreams, you have not gone anywhere. While you slept your mind wandered, that is all. Though it seemed real at the time, nothing real actually happened. You are unchanged.

Be still and know that you are in God and there is no place else to go.

If the World Isn't Real, Why Ask For Guidance?

Every now and then a student asks me why they should follow the Holy Spirit’s guidance if the world isn’t real and if it has nothing to do with God. What difference does it make how you live in the world, then? All that you made can serve salvation easily and well. The Son of God can make no choice the Holy Spirit cannot employ on his behalf, and not against himself. (T-25.VI.7) The world is your perception that you are separate from God. Calling on the Holy Spirit to guide you in it corrects this misperception. You are no longer separate from God when you are following the Holy Spirit. More on Emotional Satisfaction or Freedom
