Ask: What is your interpretation of the line about all events being planned for your good?

“What is your interpretation of the quote from Lesson 135, paragraph 18: ‘…everything that happens, all events, past, present and to come, are gently planned by One Whose only purpose is your good?’” – KA

To understand this idea, you must read the whole paragraph:

“What could you not accept, if you but knew that everything that happens, all events, past, present and to come, are gently planned by One Whose only purpose is your good? Perhaps you have misunderstood His plan, for He would never offer pain to you. But your defenses did not let you see His loving blessing shine in every step you ever took. While you made plans for death, He led you gently to eternal life.” (W-135.18)

The lines after the part you quoted make it clear that the Holy Spirit’s “plan” is an interpretation of the self’s experiences in the world. The same “steps” it took can be looked at in two ways, one leading to the idea of death, the other to awareness of Eternal Life.

I had a blowout with a close family member two years ago...I was just thinking today how are "relationship 'now' is 'quite good'"...then I laughed because nothing had really changed, in the dynamics of our relationship, except that we're talking, texting, etc...peace was realized because my awareness of Truth became more real to me, and I realized it is the only thing going on...it had fits and starts...but "my relationship with X is perfect
now!"...has nothing to do with X, only my interpretation of X w the HS...

Yes! Not to have them with the personal self's sense of guilt overriding and coloring everything...but rather with the Holy Spirit's interpretation, I want Peace instead of this. Not denying what's happening, but to not judge it with the limited, usually wrong personal sense testimony.

But I don't think that event where I hurt other people would be a part of the plan right? If I gave someone a disease or people who killed or lied about serious matters. Isn't it that they chose a different direction but once they are ready to admit to it events can be planned back for our good? But then what about people we hurt? How is what happened to them explainable, like their suffering can't be part of the plan, their suffering is as a result of somebody not following the right path? I guess I hurt someone badly and I'm having a difficult time understanding "what was I thinking", now I would never do such a thing but looking back 4/5 years ago I wasn't thinking about it. And I'm trying to understand "how could I have done this or that back then". I'm hurting seeing the other person in pain which I created and I struggle to deal with it. I wish I could of taken the pain away from them.
