The Mesmerizing Details of the Separation

Do not seek vision through your eyes, for you made your way of seeing that you might see in darkness, and in this you are deceived. Beyond this darkness, and yet still within you, is the vision of Christ, Who looks on all in light. Your "vision" comes from fear, as His from love. (T-13.V.9)

I do not get a newspaper or watch the news but I can tell you what they contained today: War, famine, poverty, natural disaster, corruption, business deals, murder, robbery, fraud, heroism, terrorism, public humiliation, political fights, strong opinions – do I need to continue? It’s all the same over and over, day after day. What do the details matter?

It is with the details that the ego mesmerizes us. The details make it real to us. The details spark the emotional reaction. Since all we see is a projection of our own minds, what do the details matter? They don’t. The separation is the separation is the separation. The form it takes is there to mask the meaninglessness of what we are seeing.

Step back from all the blah-blah of the world and breathe a sigh of relief that it isn’t real. You don’t need to mesmerize yourself with the world; you need to detach yourself from the world. Use your free time to clear your mind and commune with God rather than watch the news or read the newspaper. You will find that anything you need to know to do what you have to do will come to you.

So much energy is put into obscuring our true relationship with god. Facebooking, ipods, cell phones, tv, car music, sports, all entertainment. Everyone wants to have the next "fun" time. It seems the purpose in life is to have a good time. Its so backwards its almost laughable. There must be balance but I havent found it yet.

If the World Isn't Real, Why Ask For Guidance?

Every now and then a student asks me why they should follow the Holy Spirit’s guidance if the world isn’t real and if it has nothing to do with God. What difference does it make how you live in the world, then? All that you made can serve salvation easily and well. More on Emotional Satisfaction or Freedom
