Ask: What is your take on the Second Coming?

“…what is your take on the second coming? I have often thought of it as fundamentalist bunk to police the converts. I must confess the ACIM 's explanation, page 449 # 9, quite loses me . Is it something like a ‘grand enlightenment for all people’ or what?...” – ES

            My “take on” the Second Coming as described in A Course in Miracles’ Workbook, Part II.9, is in my translation of the Workbook, Practicing A Course in Miracles, Part 2.9:

What is the Second Coming of Christ?

1. The Second Coming of Christ, which is as sure as God, is merely the correction of your mistakes, and the return of Sanity to your mind. It restores to you What you never lost, and re-establishes What is Forever True in your mind. It is your invitation to God’s Word to take the place of your illusions, and your willingness to forgive all things, without exception or reservation.
2. The all-encompassing nature of Christ’s Second Coming embraces all that you perceive, and holds you safe within it. There is no end to the release that Christ’s Second Coming brings to you, because God’s Extension is Limitless. Your forgiving lights the way for Christ, because it shines on everything as one. This is how you recognize the Oneness of your mind at last.
3. Christ’s Second Coming ends the Holy Spirit’s lessons for you, making way for the Last Judgment, in which your learning ends in one last summary that extends beyond itself, reaching up to God. It is the time when your entire mind is given to Christ, to be returned to Spirit in the name of God’s Extension and Will.
4. Christ’s Second Coming is the one event in time which time itself cannot affect. All that you ever made, or imagined for the future, is wholly released from your mind in it. Christ is restored as the One Identity of your entire mind, and God smiles upon you, God’s Extension and Joy.
5. Pray that the Second Coming of Christ is soon, but do not rest there. It needs your eyes, ears, hands, feet, and voice. Most of all, it needs your willingness. Rejoice that you can do God’s Will, and join together in Its Holy Light. God’s Holy Extension is One in you, and you can reach God’s Love through It.

The Second Coming of Christ is not the return of Reality, but merely your awareness that It is always here. (MACIM-9.4.11)

When I experienced my "Instant" it was the type that was a love beyond compression, but I "understand" it as such It was obviously how Jesus himself felt and most likely Buddha too as there could be no other explanation.

The name of Jesus is the name of one who was a man but saw the face of Christ in all his brothers and remembered God. So he became identified with Christ a man no longer, but at one with God. The man was an illusion, for he seemed to be a separate being, within a body that appeared to hold his self from Self, as all illusions do. . . . Is he the Christ?

Ask: What is meant by "extend Love"?

I wonder exactly what is meant by "extend love" or how one extends love. Is it a loving intention toward the person, or a wish for them, or what? Can you give an example? – JO “Extending love” means replacing unloving thoughts in your mind with the awareness of Love in your mind. For example, your peace of mind is disturbed while watching something on television. Your peace is gone because you believe that what you see is reality. You extend Love in this situation by turning inward to Truth (God), feeling Love’s Presence within you, and remembering that It, not the images appearing, is What is Real. It may take you a while to accept that only your own thoughts cause you pain. So at first you may feel that you need to extend Love “out there” to the images that seem to be causing you pain. Evolving Practice with ACIM

           The Course was dictated to two who had a sense of Spirit working in their lives. After all, they were taking down the Course itself! The Universal Christ Mind sought to develop and grow their awareness of Spirit through the lessons in the Workbook as well as simply in discussion with them, privately and through the Course .
