There are, of course, no "unnatural" powers, and it is obviously merely an appeal to magic to make up a power that does not exist. It is equally obvious, however, that each individual has many abilities of which he is unaware. As his awareness increases, he may well develop abilities that seem quite startling to him. (M-25.1)

As a student of the Course, you learn that “mind” is not isolated to individual brains. As you do the lessons and open your mind to the Holy Spirit, the barriers you have erected around your individual mind may start to crumble. Some of the experiences I hear about (or have) as a student of the Course include an increase in “coincidences”; moments of clairvoyance or precognition; moments of leaving the world and being in the Light; time speeding up or slowing down; experiences of Oneness with others; automatic writing; automatic speaking; connecting with minds from another place and/or time; hearing the still, quiet Voice of God.

Be aware that when your mind opens it may not only be the Holy Spirit you hear at first. You may have to learn how to discern which is the Holy Spirit and which is some aspect of ego – yours or what seems like another’s from another place and/or time. You can be certain if the voice you hear is concerned with some aspect of the world rather than with awakening from it that it is not the Holy Spirit.

They may not seem like it at first, but these experiences are normal. They will eventually become the “new normal” for you as you get used to them. If you are frightened or unsettled you may contact me or reach out to other students who are also having these experiences.

Right. It's not that we suddenly develop extra-ordinary abilities. It's that our awareness increases as we allow obstacles to be removed from our mind, obstacles to awareness of the presence of Spirit, awareness of One Mind.

Carl Jung and Jane Roberts helped me to be aware of meaningful coincidences or synchronicity.

Jane Roberts taught me to pay close attention to what is happening in my world as an expression of the content of mind.

I am aware of knowing things that I should not be able to know.

Yes, the Voice for God is forever helping me to wake up, to not be walking through life like a sleepwalker.

I've had time slowing and thus eliminating the idea of it being 'linear" I was vaguely aware of a mist surrounding the Earth and I've had incidences of Claire-audience while back checking my life inventory. It startled me the first time I heard it, I was making a sandwich in the kitchen and as I was considering my motives from past events I suddenly heard a big booming voice that said "It was your self-centeredness" I instantly dropped my fork I was holding and effortlessly caught it with my left hand. After that there was blessed silence. I was blown away in awe, so these things do indeed happen.

If the World Isn't Real, Why Ask For Guidance?

Every now and then a student asks me why they should follow the Holy Spirit’s guidance if the world isn’t real and if it has nothing to do with God. What difference does it make how you live in the world, then? All that you made can serve salvation easily and well. The Son of God can make no choice the Holy Spirit cannot employ on his behalf, and not against himself. (T-25.VI.7) The world is your perception that you are separate from God. Calling on the Holy Spirit to guide you in it corrects this misperception. You are no longer separate from God when you are following the Holy Spirit. More on Emotional Satisfaction or Freedom
